Special Educational Needs

From time to time many children will have difficulties with certain aspects of learning, and need some extra help with their education. Teachers know and understand this and are in the best position to find out what might be causing the difficulty. If you are concerned that your child may be finding school work particularly hard, it is always best to discuss this with her or his teacher or the Headteacher of the school. This also applies, of course, if a child is unhappy about some aspect of school life, for example of s/he says s/he is being bullied.

If your child has special educational needs or you feel they might, you can find out more about our Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team and provision for children with SEN in our Services Guide.

There may also be additional funding available for children and young people special educational needs.
