It's exhibition changeover time and preparations are well under way for the next exhibition at the Museum. Ray Atkins: The Reading Years opens Saturday 28 January and continues until Saturday 6 May.

We are now awaiting the arrival of Ray Atkins' monumental paintings, which have a long way to travel from their home in the French Pyrenees to Reading, no mean feat in January – particularly as they are stored on a farm half way up a mountain. Fingers crossed for good weather!

Meanwhile Ray has taken a break from painting his beloved peaks and valleys around the farm to make sure that the Reading paintings are in tip-top shape to travel.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter for news of their progress!

Ray will be in Reading for a busy few days over the opening weekend and is leading a Masterclass in the town centre on Monday 31 January. So if you enjoy drawing, want to expand your horizons or simply see how Ray does it, join us for a day on the streets. Details included in the Art in the Dark Months 2017 listings (see link below).
