Guided tours of Reading Abbey

Guided tours of Reading Abbey

On these pages you can find out more about our links to the local community and how you can get involved more closely with our work. This is also where you can find details of any major projects and consultations we are currently holding.

Our project to transform the Abbey Quarter involves local people. We regularly work with local people and community groups. We provide a reminiscence service for older people using our popular Memory Boxes. An increasing number of volunteers work with us on both short and longer term projects. Our Berkshire Archaeology service provides archaeological advice to five Berkshire councils and their communities. We are also supported by the Friends of Reading Museums, who fundraise and champion our work.
