Community Infrastructure Levy
In April 2010 the Government introduced Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), which allows local authorities to fund infrastructure to support growth and development in their area. It is chargeable on most new developments, at a £rate/per m2, and the money raised is intended to support a range of infrastructure types such as education, transport and community.
